My family and I recently went to Mexico on a whim. The flight was a little long but well worth it! The people were very friendly and the accommodations were very nice.
We went in March, which proved to be a very nice time of year for favorable climate. It wasn’t too hot or too cold, and every day was sunny and beautiful. Additionally, the humidity levels were comfortable and the sunsets were amazing!
We stayed at hotel Ventus at Marina El Cid Spa and Resort at Riveria Maya, being an all-inclusive hotel, it means we can go to any of the restaurants anytime we want for any number of times. This even includes room service! Although some restaurants require reservations ahead of time, alcoholic beverages are also included in the stay! For example, if we’d like a couple mixed drinks while sitting around the pool, we only need to order it. Tips are also covered, so you don’t have to worry about carrying cash with you to tip the servers.
The quality of food was fantastic…presentation, especially at the restaurants requiring a reservation, was phenomenal. We were also very satisfied with the selection of international foods. This really curbed the possibility of getting bored with food selections at a hotel environment. Everyone probably knows how tiresome the same old continental breakfast gets when staying at a hotel for a week…not here!
One of our favorite places was known as an international marketplace when it comes to food choices. There are several stations where you can get your made-to-order meal of choice. We made sure to visit everyday and never got tired of it because of the seemingly endless combinations. The Mercado De Delores was our favorite spot to grab some brunch after an early morning poolside bout of relaxation. Sometimes we would stop by for a late night snack or drink, too. It was very relaxing.
If you’re ever in the mood for a surprisingly affordable, but high-end experience in the Riviera Maya of Mexico, we highly recommend this wonderful little spot that’s a few steps away from the high traffic areas of well-known tourist areas. You can even take in some Mayan history while you’re at it!

Looks so beautiful there. I always wanted to go and visit. Is it safe? I hear a lot of negative information. It looks like where you were it was safe.
